As a Career Coach, I view myself as a GPS system for my clients. Simply put:
I help you get where you need to go.
However, I don't determine the destination on my own. Our coaching sessions are a collaborative individualized approach. The more I learn about you, the more I can understand the destination and therefore can build the road map. In doing so, I not only can allow you to see how to get where you need to go, but to also understand that there may even be alternate routes that can get you there!
GPS: Gauge, Plot, Start
Step 1: Gauge the Starting Point:
Before we start the journey we have to know the starting point. Clearly defining where you are in time and space helps me understand who you are, what you care about, what motivates and inspires you, what you value, and the problems you want to create solutions around. Additionally, knowing the starting point allows for an easier journey by understanding potential obstacles/construction sites such as negative or irrational beliefs, fear, and misinformation which can greatly slow the journey ahead.
Common Questions and Concerns at Step 1:
"I don't know where to start!"
"I am interested in so many things but don't know how to choose a career path."
"I don't feel very motivated right now, I don't know what I want to do."
"What will help me find a career that I will actually enjoy and not hate?"
"I don't think I can be successful at that!"
Action Tasks: Gain self awareness through assessments and self exploration coaching & counseling
Step 2: Plot in The Coordinates:
Using clues established in part 1. Establishing the appropriate filters. Fill in gaps that are missing. Locate the path that will get you there quickly and efficiently.
Common Questions and Concerns at Step 2:
"I don't know if I can make enough money"
"How much education and training do I need?"
"What are the advancement opportunities?"
"What are the potential barriers/obstacles to getting there?"

Step 3: Start The Journey:
Combining the clarity of self awareness with the knowledge of career options and initiate the launch of your career. Crafting and fine tuning your career identity and seeking opportunities that align with your unique vision and potential.

"I don't know how to build a personal brand!"
